Every year dozens of amateur and professional photographers converge on the tiny mountain village of Crested Butte, Colorado in search of unique images. Some search for flowers. Some search for snowy landscapes. Some search for images of our strange festivals and parades. Some crave our fabulous fall colors. Whatever these photographers are searching for, local photographers J. C. Leacock and Dusty Demerson have experienced and photographed dozens of times.
We've been photographing the area for well over 30 years and a good part of that time we've been teaching and leading tours. If you're planning a photo trip to Crested Butte or would just like to spend a morning learning how to use your camera a little better in a new location we would love to help. We know what flowers are blooming where. We have great intuition about when the leaves will change colors. We've spent many days 4 wheeling the challenging backroads through these mountains.
